A Gallery of Home Page Pictures

Lucas at 10 months and Nicholas at almost 3 (June 1995). This picture
opened our web site from its beginning ’til November ’95. |

Lucas at 14 months and Nicholas at 3 (October 1995). This picture
was used from November ’95 until September ’96. |

Lucas at 2 and Nicholas at 4 (August 1996). One of my favorite pictures.
It’s a grayscale composite of their annual portraits taken in July and
August ’96. This picture graced our home page from September ’96 to
August ’97. |

Lucas at 3 and Nicholas at 5 (July ’97). A very grown-up-looking Lucas
and his big brother led off our web site from August ’97 to March ’98. |

The same picture as above but with a little shadowing added to pop it
out from the background. This picture is used since moving to our own
site (ducdo.iperweb.com) in late March ’98 until August ’98. |

Lucas (4) and Nicholas (6) in their OKHT cycling jerseys. Portrait
taken in August ’98, scanned and prepped with Adobe PhotoDeluxe. |

Nicholas (6½) and Lucas (4½) playing in the snow in early January ’99.
This is a composite of two separate
pictures. The images were merged and manipulated with PaintShop Pro.
This picture was used to introduce our new domain (www.thedos.org) in
February ’99. |

Nicholas (7) and Lucas (5) at Arlington National Cemetery on a visit to
Washington, DC, on a hot July day. This photo is digitally altered
from Mom’s favorite snapshot. Ol’ Dad
was cropped out of the picture, the boys were moved closer together and
enlarged slightly. And voilà! Scanned with an HP 5100Cse scanner and
manipulated in PaintShop Pro. (Used between September ’99 and August
2000.) |

Nicholas (8) and Lucas (6) clowning around at the koala display
on an early-summer visit to the Louisville Zoo. This picture was
used for a short time in late August and early September 2000.
Scanned with an HP 5200C scanner and manipulated in PaintShop Pro. |

It was nigh impossible to coax a winsome smile out of Nicholas (8) and
Lucas (6) at the same time for a family
portrait. But when they do, watch out for the devilish grins. These
boys are up to no good! Scanned with an HP 5200C scanner and manipulated
in PaintShop Pro. August 2000. (Used between September 2000 and December
2001.) |

Showing an ever-grown-up demeanor, Nicholas (9) gives the camera his
undivided attention, while Lucas (7) flashes his model-caliber smile. This
photo is a composite of two snapshots.
Lucas was reduced slightly for the correct perspective and the boys merged
together. Scanned with an HP 6300C scanner and digitally altered in
PaintShop Pro. December 2001. (Used between December 2001 and November
2002.) |

Lucas (left, age 8) and Nicholas (10) are both bespectacled now — their
fates sealed genetically since every member of both immediate families
has to wear corrective glasses. Not much digital modification was necessary
with the picture, since it started out as a wonderful shot of them shoulder
to shoulder. The photo was taken with a Fujifilm Finepix camera at about 1
megapixels, and digitally processed and reduced in size in PaintShop Pro.
November 2002. (Used between November 2002 and December 2004.) |

The Do Boys, Lucas (10) and Nicholas (12), in an ever-rarer moment where they
cooperate to be photographed and photogenic at the same time. Photo taken
with a Nikon Coolpix 8800VR digital camera with fill flash at 3 megapixels,
and digitally processed in PaintShop Pro. November 2004. |

Lucas (12) and Nicholas (14) out on a late-fall hike in Jefferson Memorial Forest.
Photo taken with an Olympus SP-500UZ digital camera with fill flash at 3.5
megapixels, and digitally processed in PaintShop Pro. December 2006. |
