July 4, 1998 Hi Brenda & Bill, Happy 4th of July! We had an 85-mile flat ride. My butt is sore! But it was a good ride. Left Yorktown along the ocean/James River. We were in sight of the water for many miles. Stopped in at Williamsburg for a while to eat breakfast and be tourists. Rode through Jamestown but didn’t stop. The roads were smooth with not much traffic. We are staying on the edge of Richmond. Called home. Lucas came to the phone and said, “Hi, Girlfriend!” I love that boy! Nicholas is full of talk [and] having a good time at the family reunion. Love, Paula.
