July 5, 1998 Hi Brenda & Bill, We had a great day of riding. Perfect weather in the mid-80s though a little breezy. The route was a little rolling, enough to get us off the saddle so I’m not so sore. Rode through horse country. Was a lot like riding in Kentucky. Ate breakfast with a friendly local cyclist who mapped out a nice route out of Richmond. Met another local cyclist on the road and talked with him for a while. Stopped at a couple of classic country stores. We’re staying at a marina motel at Lake Anna. A beautiful lake. Most of the crowd’s leaving after the holiday weekend. We call the boys each night. Nicholas is out scouting the campsite. Love, Paula.
