July 19, 1991 Dear Grandmama, We’re beginning to wrap things up. 65 miles from David City to Omaha. Good rolling hills which tandems do well on. But again it was hot! Not many towns to stop in but quality made up for it. We stopped in Wahoo for a second breakfast since it was only 10:00. The town’s main street was having a sidewalk sale so it was kind of crowded. We stopped at the Wigwam Cafe. Lots of locals stopped to talk to us. Then a reporter showed up. Someone had alerted him about us. He interviewed us, took photos and promised to send us a copy. It was fun! A really open, friendly town. Then we rode on into Omaha. The traffic was horrible! But we got to Kevin’s parents, Vern and Kathy Faller. She had a good lunch ready. Washed our clothes, had a steak dinner that was delicious and just relaxed. The things I remember most about this trip is the wonderful and friendly people. Tomorrow we ride into Iowa! Love, Paula
