July 20, 1991 Dear Grandmama, Well, we are in Missouri Valley, Iowa, at the beginning of RAGBRAI. It was so hot and supposed to be hot until Tuesday. We slept in at the Fallers’ until 7:00 and she made us a huge breakfast. They drove us to the city limit to avoid traffic. We rode 15 miles to Blair, Neb., and crossed the [Missouri] river there. 30 miles and we’re here. Found our camping group after climbing a bunch of hills. Got in about 1:30, took showers, had a spaghetti dinner. It’s going to be different riding with the crowd and no packs. We didn’t have anything exciting happen on the ride except another flat tire. We’ve been gone a long time but I’m still enjoying myself. Carolyn Minnette is here and gave us an update on out plants, etc. We’ll be home soon. This will be my last postcard since I’m out of cards and we’ll stay busy in the evening. See you soon. Love, Paula
